World markets were mostly lower Friday as caution ahead of a critical reading on the U.S. jobs market offset any optimism caused by major rate cuts Thursday by European central banks.

U.S. stock futures Friday clung near the prior session's lows ahead of data that may show the worst month for jobs in at least 30 years. S&P 500 futures recently were down 0.2 of a point to 847.3, and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 3.2 points to 1131.8 Dow industrial futures, however, rose 1 point to 8403.
